Springtime on the Cascade Loop means melting snowpack and swelling rivers and streams in the mountains, fields of blooms in the Skagit Valley, green grasses and wildflowers poking up as the sun warms the hillsides and fields! Whether your bliss is found riding a cruiser through tulip fields, or kayaking through the Puget Sound near Whidbey or Fidalgo Islands, Spring welcomes you here! IMPORTANT: The North Cascades Highway closes in winter due to excessive snow and reopens once the roadway can be safely cleared in late Spring usually, so note that when you plan to travel the Loop at this time of year, you need to plan to backtrack (which we actually love because it allows us to hit our favorite spots twice!)
