Winter Recreation abounds on the Cascade Loop!

Winter is a special time on the Cascade Loop National Scenic Byway, Washington State’s Ultimate Road Trip! Travelers and residents alike experience a multitude of snow activities, especially in Okanogan Country and the Chelan County portions of our scenic byway. Traditional downhill skiing and snowboarding are favorites, along with snowshoeing and tubing. Or you can try something new like in the new luge hill at Loup Loup Ski Bowl and Fat Tire Biking in the Methow Valley and Leavenworth area – and of course ice fishing at over a dozen lakes throughout the area.

Okanogan Country

From luge sledding at Loup Loup Ski Bowl to ice fishing at over a dozen lakes in the county, to the largest groomed winter trail system in North America – offering Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, fat tire biking and you can’t help but find something fun for the whole family, and your four-legged friends!

Visit Chelan County

Only minutes from great communities, lodging and dining opportunities, Stevens Pass Ski Area, Leavenworth Ski Hill and Mission Ridge Ski and Board Resort, along with small town, volunteer run rope tow hills, are great options for spending time with friends and family playing in the snow. Tubing hills and snowshoe trails take you to the hilltops overlooking Lake Chelan or the mountain meadows and valleys of Plain, Lake Wenatchee, and Leavenworth.

If you are planning a visit to the backcountry - check conditions with the Northwest Avalanche Center here: https://nwac.us/
