Geocache & LetterBox

There are hundreds of geocache locations surrounding the Cascade Loop Scenic Highway.  If you would like to combine your geocaching with stunning scenery, incredible recreational activities and comfortable lodging, request our free 68-page travel guide.  It will give you lots of ways to enjoy yourself before and after you find your caches!

Letterboxing is also "alive" along the Loop from Anacortes' Washington Park to the North Cascades National Park.  The Skagit Valley Letterboxing Trail includes 16 "Letterboxes" hidden all along the beautiful Skagit Watershed.  Each box has a labeled notebook and either a stamp with ink-pad or else distinctive stickers.  There might also be more ideas or an activity about the area!

The town of Newhalem (the last town before the National Park) is the launching point for “Goat Snare” – an easy, family-friendly virtual letterbox in which the searcher looks for clues from signs instead of looking for an actual box.
